We take members on cultural excursions which have relevance to the work we are developing together, or that members have expressed an interest in. Often these are trips to the theatre but might be visits to galleries or museums.
Recent trips include: a backstage tour of the Citizens Theatre; a visit to Sharmanka; and seeing ‘Little Red’ by Barrowland Ballet at Tramway. A trip to see Lampedusa at the Citizens Theatre with some of our Seniors and Intermediates. We took our Juniors to see Hairspray at Kings Theatre, and Cinderella at the Citizens Theatre.
We have upcoming trips involving the celebration of Chinese New Year!!!
Creative retreats are a regular feature of Ignite Theatre‘s activities, taking members away from the pressures of home and offering a chance for intense creativity, new collaborations, team building, and Youth Leadership Training.
On previous retreats members have gone to, for example, Ardoch and Inverary.
Our members have taken part in a residential weekend in Stirling with the National Theatre of Scotland as part of their development & learning for Exchange 2016. Members have also collaborated on a creative retreat in the Scottish borders as part of the University of Glasgow‘s research project Researching Multilingually at Borders.
